The third round of Economic Impact Payments were issued starting March 2021.  These payments were generally $1,400 per person and subject to phaseouts.  The first two payments were reconciled on your 2020 return. The third payment is reconciled on your 2021 return.  The third round of Economic Impact Payments are NOT taxable income to you and do not need to be repaid if income levels change.

Get My Payment Tool:

Securely access your account information with the Get My Payment tool on the IRS website to find out when and how your third round of Economic Impact Payments were sent.  This tool will only show the status of the third round of Economic Impact Payments.  If this information is not helpful, please try your online account (see above).

IRS Letters:

• Notice 1444: Shows the first Economic Impact Payment advanced for tax year 2020
• Notice 1444-B: Shows the second Economic Impact Payment advanced for tax year 2020
• Notice 1444-C: Shows the third Economic Impact Payment advanced for tax year 2021
• Letter 6475:  Shows total third Economic Impact Payment and any "plus-up" payments received for tax year 2021

What to do if your online records show your payment was issued but you have not received it or it was lost or stolen?

You should request a payment trace with the IRS to track your payment.  Call the IRS at 1-800-919-9835.
